Thanksgiving!

For thanksgiving Junior and I went to Kansas City to spend it with him Mom and Dad. She always does such a good job cooking! Her turkey was so moist, green been casserole was to die for, and she created a new recipe for cranberry sauce and insisted we try it. I do NOT like cranberry but was very pleasantly surprised it was very good!

After dinner we played games with the missionaries and some of their friends. They were the games that Juniors Dad made. They had a lot of fun! I would compare it to Risk only Mormon style :).
Bruce, Junior and I had plans to get up early and go shopping on Black Friday- but there was no getting Junior up!! So Bruce and I went without him- it was a lot of fun to spend the morning together shopping- Toys R Us was ridiculous!! everywhere else we went was fine.

On our drive home from KC the roads were so slick it was scary! I'm so glad Junior stays so calm. He was driving and we watched a car lose control ahead of us and he was able to keep ours controlled as we stopped to help them. Pretty intense but we made it home safe just took A LOT longer than normal!

Tonsillectomy

YUCK YUCK YUCK- the last part of October I got my tonsils taken out. They say as you get older the harder the recovery is and boy is that true! I was hurting! The doctor told me previous to surgery that once I was put under they would take a look at my adenoids and see how they looked as well. Generally as you grow up- your adenoids shrink.

Well if it weren't for bad luck I would have none! The doctor said my adenoids were huge and so he took out my tonsils, and my adenoids. Oh but lets go further-- my uvula (the hangy down thing) was "abnormally large" so they cut that in half while they were at it-it could have caused problems breathing.
When I came out of surgery my mom, dad, and Junior were all waiting to see me. When they came back I was just waking up. I was hurting! Junior was holding my hand and I remember starting to cry - Junior kept saying, "just don’t think about it." As if mind over matter would work when someone just took a blender to the back of your throat!!?!

Probably not something you should say to someone who just had their throat torn to shreds, and is highly medicated! I turned to him in front of the nurses and my parents and said- "this hurts I want to cry and feel sorry for myself - you just stand here ok?!?" Lucky for him he listened and obeyed! I was out of work for 3 weeks recovering and needed all 3 for sure!

My diet consisted of Jell-O and Gatorade - if I had either of those one more time I was going to scream!! But hey the weight loss as a result- that was great!

I was so sore it was hard to talk myself into drinking or eating anything! Well two weeks after surgery I landed myself in the ER to be pumped full of fluids because I was really dehydrated. The nurse told me normally patients have to use the restroom half way through the first bag is injected through IV. They gave me three that night- I’m so glad I went when I did because I needed it!

The good news-- I'll never have to go through this ever again!!

MoToRcYcLeS!!

Ok so anybody who knows Junior knows he LOVES motorcycles! well He bought a new one this year it's BEAUTIFUL and so much fun!! It has become our new favorite thing to do - go out riding!! Here is his new one aint she a beauty?? We named her even haha- her name is Auz (named after his dog) Ya know -- maybe if we got rid of the bikes he may have some motivation to have a real baby haha. jk

So here is the new gossip= I decided that while it's super fun riding with him and enjoying the ride I want to get in on the action and feel the rush of being in control and actually driving alone! So He has started teaching me (very patiently I might add) I was so nervous at first but I love the rush that I get when I grab onto those handle bars and hear the noice of the engine- knowing that I am in control! :) This picture is my first ride on the busy roads and yes Junior took this picture while he was riding next to me- crazy kid!
Next Junior and I decided ya know- how cool would it be for me to have my OWN bike - so we set out on a search and we found her- She needs some work but wow she is fun to ride and has been a fun project to start. Hopefully by next spring she'll be painted white with pink decals! :)

Halloween

Growing up it was a tradition for our family to go to Vala's Pumpkin Patch. I remember loving it! we would always go on the Hay rack Ride and Mom and Dad had a rule that us kids could pick a pumpkin but we HAD to be able to carry it ourselves. (now that were grown we know it's because they are pay by the pound haha.)
This year mom and dad asked if we all wanted to go - I was really excited it had been quite a while since we had been there! Junior came with we had a blast! We rode the hay rack ride reminiscing about the "old days" and just laughing together. No pumpkins this year though. OH MY WORD!! CREEPY ANIMAL! we were walking through the "petting zoo" (all the animals run from you unless you have treats) and I saw this huge camel! So i decide you know what- he is worth my 25 cents and I get some treats. Well me being the smart girl that I am decide to surpass the nifty bowl they tell you to put the food in and just let the big ol' guy eat out of my hand. This picture is NOT posed folks- I was just that scared, and Katelin's camera skills- that fast! I thought I was going to lose my hand!! The scare and a handful of slobber later- I was just fine...until....
Katelin decides she is going to do the same! Her picture not posed either-- scarier than it looks for sure!!
Oh and-- nice to know Jordan and Junior are so concerned?? They are in their own world in this one!
After this event we decided we were going to once again defy all odds and go through the children's...I repeat CHILDREN'S haunted house. It was PRICELESS! Mom and Katelin might as well have rode through on piggy back they were so terrified! mom actually jumped, screamed, and managed to rip the bottom of my pants she got so scared. Thanks to Junior hitting the walls to scare them- as if they needed that!
Junior also loved that he found a stand that sold the huge turkey legs so we got one to share...Yummy!
It was so much fun I'm glad we decided to go.
After all you are only as old as you act! :)
